One Saturday, we were at loss where to eat breakfast. Since the hockey season started we have been going to breakfast spots all over the San Fernando Valley. Didn’t even realize that this gem just opened. Thanks to Yelp, we found ourselves the first customers of the day at Hamptons 818, along Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks
The whole place is basically outdoors but heaters were abundant.
First, coffee. Which was decent. Armenian coffee is also available if you want something stronger but I opted for regular coffee. Kids went for lemonade and watermelon juice. There are other options alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike as well as fresh and mixed juices.
Lobster Benedict – lobster, grilled tomato, saffron hollandaise; side of hash browns and toast ($18).
Hamptons Hash – select smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and hash brown ($15)
Banana and Peanut Butter Toast ($10)
Berries and Creme Fraiche Toast ($10)
THOUGTHS: The restaurant is definitely a special place. The decor is a very chic, upscale, beach front appeal to it. I see a lot of lounging and hanging out especially when they start hookah late at night. There’s a draft of cold air that comes in once in a while but with the abundance of heaters helps control the temperature. I would think it would be perfect once summer comes. The service was great and friendly at the time we were there. Food was delicious, a tad pricey especially the toasts. At this point I would think you are paying for the place. The only negative thing is that parking is either valet or street. I would definitely come back for their lunch or dinner menu.
